NCSU CHANCELLOR'S E-CARD

My e-card design was chosen by newly appointed Chancellor Randy Wilson along with the Chancellor Office to be sent to 500+ recipients for the holidays.  The card was made for Randy Wilson and his family to send to family and friends as well as alumni and colleagues.

The purpose of the card was to send out a memorable greeting that would help Randy Wilson reach out to colleagues and alumni both old and new as NCSU's new chancellor.  The University also wanted the card to incorporate the recently added "Woven Wolf" sculptures on campus.  The card needed to say "Happy Holidays!" while subtly showcasing some of NC State's latest additions to campus.

My intention in using the literal sculpture as the main subject of the card was not only because it obviously solves the problem easily, but I thought there was something about the wireframe form of the sculptures that could be softened in a way to resemble something more free-flowing like ribbon or hay.

Although the card was suppose to be completely neutral in regards to religion, I think I may have cheated a little subconsciously.  I definitely drew inspiration from the Christian nativity scene in my efforts to keep the image very warm and sort of rudimentary in it's nature while emphasizing "precious metals" and the night sky.
